Compton Bassett Cricket Club

Watched by a massive crowd of villagers each time they play at home, Compton Bassett Cricket Club enjoys one of the most idyllic settings for a rural village cricket team.

Made up of a team of old codgers, the Compton Bassett Cricket Club has an average of 157 (years... the batting average is a lot less!)

As a result they are always looking for new members who can push the old ones in their wheelchairs from crease to crease.

As you can see they still manage to put on a good show and even have their own GP who opens the batting to ensure that he is available with his smelling salts throughout the latter stages to revive those who need it!

During half term they enlist the talents of Plymouth University (well, Dave Coward's son, Richard, and his friends) to provide a brief rest bite.

During the course of the game there is much deliberation over the sandwich order and which player will be buying the first pint down the pub afterwards.
